A two stroke engine has a high pitched sound unlike the lower pitched sound in four stroke engine . Four stroke engine weighs more than the two stroke engine . The two stroke engine requires gas, which is mixed with oil, whereas four stroke engine doesn't require gas, which is mixed with oil and less smoke is produced . The piston compresses the mixture inside the two stroke engine, whereas the piston presses the exhaust out of the cylinder in the four stroke engine .
