Magna Carta Libertatum or The Great Charter of the Liberties of England or Magna Carta which was issued in Latin in the year 1215 is an Angevin charter. It was the first documented forced on a King of England by a group of his subjects which were called the feudal barons, in an attempt to limit his powers by law and protect their privileges.

The Magna Carta was one of the most important documents of Medieval England.It was signed (by royal seal) between the barons and John at Runnymede near Windsor Castle.
